AKTVO ("we," "our," or "us") operates the AKTVO mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our Service.

By using AKTVO, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

• Full name (first and last name)

• Authentication credentials (email/password or Google Sign-In tokens)

2.2 Location Data

AKTVO is a location-based service. Location data is central to how the app works.

• Beacon Broadcasting: When you "Go AKTVO," your real-time GPS location is broadcast to other users and updated at regular intervals so participants can find and join your activity.
• Background Location Tracking: During an active AKTVO session, we collect GPS coordinates in the background (even if the app is minimized) to record your activity route, distance, and duration.
• Stored Location: Your last known location may be stored to enable proximity-based features such as nearby AKTVO notifications.
• Activity Routes: GPS track points recorded during AKTVOs may be saved and displayed on completed activity posts. You may choose to hide route endpoints for privacy.

2.3 Activity & Usage Data

• AKTVOs you create or join (activity type, title, description, start time, duration, distance)
• Beacon data (location, schedule, participant count, broadcast status)
• Activity posts including photos, videos (up to 15 seconds), captions, and GPS route data
• Subscription tier and billing information (managed through Apple App Store and Google Play Store)
• Monthly AKTVO creation count (for subscription limit tracking)

2.4 Social & Communication Data

• Users you follow and who follow you
• Group chat messages associated with AKTVOs
• Likes, comments, and interactions on activity posts
• Participant lists for AKTVOs and classes

2.5 Media

• Photos uploaded to activity posts
• Videos uploaded to activity posts (automatically trimmed to 15 seconds)
• Video thumbnails (auto-generated)
• Profile images

2.6 Device & Technical Data

• Device type and operating system
• Push notification tokens (APNs for iOS, FCM for Android)
• App interaction logs for debugging and performance

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide core functionality: Enable beacon creation, real-time location broadcasting, activity tracking, and social features.
• Facilitate community engagement: Send push notifications for nearby AKTVOs, new followers, new participants, countdown alerts for scheduled activities, and other relevant updates.
• Enable social features: Power the activity feed, following system, group chats, likes, and comments.
• Manage subscriptions: Track usage limits for Freemium users, process subscription upgrades, and manage Elite instructor features.
• Improve the Service: Analyze usage patterns to enhance features and user experience.
• Ensure safety: Moderate content, enforce bans on beacons, and maintain platform integrity.

4. Location Data & Broadcasting

• Live location broadcasting only occurs when you actively start an AKTVO session.
• You control when broadcasting starts and stops.
• Background location tracking is used solely to record your activity route during an active session.
• You may hide the start and end points of your recorded route when publishing an AKTVO post.
• Nearby user notifications use a proximity radius and are rate-limited (maximum once per 2 days per user) to prevent notification fatigue.

5. Data Storage & Security

• Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore, Firebase Storage, Firebase Authentication), which provides enterprise-grade security, encryption at rest, and encryption in transit.
• Media files (photos, videos, thumbnails) are stored in Firebase Storage with secure access rules.
• Map data is powered by Mapbox, which processes location coordinates for map rendering.
• We implement Firestore Security Rules to ensure users can only access data they are authorized to view.

6. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following:

• Google Firebase / Google Cloud Platform: Data storage, authentication, push notifications, and serverless functions.
• Mapbox: Location coordinates for map rendering and display.
• Apple (App Store Connect): Subscription purchase verification and management (iOS).
• Google (Play Store): Subscription purchase verification and management (Android).
• Other AKTVO Users: Your profile name, photo, activity posts, and live beacon location are visible to other users based on your privacy settings and activity participation.

We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of AKTVO, our users, or the public.

7. Subscription & Payment Data

• Subscription purchases are processed entirely through the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android). We do not collect or store credit card numbers or payment details.
• We store your subscription tier (Freemium, Standard, Enhanced, or Elite), expiry date, platform, and product identifier for access control purposes.
• Purchase restoration is handled through the respective app store.

8. Push Notifications

We send push notifications for:

• Nearby AKTVOs matching your activity interests
• New participants joining your AKTVO
• New followers
• Likes and comments on your activity posts
• Countdown alerts for scheduled AKTVOs within your tribe/pillar
• Chat messages

You can manage notification preferences through your device settings or within the app.

9. Data Retention

• Account data is retained as long as your account is active.
• Completed AKTVO posts (including routes, photos, videos) are retained until you delete them.
• Beacon data for expired or stopped sessions may be retained for activity history purposes.
• Chat messages are retained as long as the associated AKTVO group exists.
• If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.

10. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Withdraw consent for location tracking (note: this will limit core app functionality).
• Opt out of push notifications via device settings.
• Request data portability of your information.

11. Children's Privacy

AKTVO is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our service providers (Firebase, Mapbox) operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by posting the updated policy on our website. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
